Measuring Facility Operators/Providers

Within intelligent networks, customers can act both as consumers and as producers of energy. In both cases, energy is billed in consideration of the currently valid regulations. With a view to the integration of networks into the market (consideration of the current production and consumption situation, load shifts, tariffs, consumption control), Smart Metering is required both by measuring facility operators/service providers and by grid operators, and is therefore an integral part of intelligent networks. Thus, consumers are able to participate in the current market processes by means of time-dependent tariffs and reduce their energy costs e.g. through load shifts.

Our smart grid solution includes all components, from power meters up to remote meter reading applications. Data for billing purposes (load profiles, billing data) are taken from the ACOS 750 MG in the local network station and are passed on in SML format to a remote meter reading device. Thus, the operators of measuring facilities and service providers and network operators are able to act independently of one another while adhering to the required safety mechanisms. This also applies to the utility meters for gas, water and district heating that are connected to the metering device via M-bus, because each meter is able to communicate with its own network operator and measuring facility operator/service provider, respectively.
