Multi-Utility Systems
IDS systems can be used for the following utilities: gas, water, electricity, heat and wastewater. The utility-specific functions have a modular structure and are integrated in the HIGH-LEIT SCADA system.
The IDS HIGH-LEIT SCADA system provides all the necessary functions for the implementation of clear and user-friendly multi-utility control centres. Faults and outages can be called-up and processed individually for each sector; similarly, the on-call service can be organised individually for each utility.
Modern multi-utility companies use the combination of the different utilities (electricity, gas, heating) for the trans-sectoral optimisation of the overall energy supply.
The IDS HIGH-LEIT SCADA system enables the integration of powerful software modules for the optimisation of multi-utility systems. For this purpose, the following functions are available:
- Forecast of required district heating
- Forecast of required electricity
- Assignment planning of thermal power stations
- Load management
Decentralised systems are available for a variety of utility-specific tasks, for instance:
- Station automation systems (SAS)
- ACOS ECS Energy Controlling Suite
- ACOS NMS Network Management Suite
Thanks to the trans-sectoral optimisation function, the company-owned energy generating plants, e.g. thermal power plants, emergency diesel generating sets etc., can be used extremely efficiently, thereby minimising the operating costs.
