Web Interfaces
Whenever information shall be made available to large groups of users, web-based solutions are first choice. With the HIGH-LEIT Web Interface and the HIGH-LEIT Terminal Server, IDS provides a wide range of innovative solutions for process visualisation on hardware- and software-independent Client PCs, without requiring a reparameterisation of the data.
An internal user administration system facilitates protected access to other (non-control room) members of staff.
The HIGH-LEIT Web Interface is designed as an information component for SCADA system information. The Terminal Server enables complete control via Web technology.
Web-Interface
The HIGH-LEIT Web Interface enables access to control system data in the intranet and the internet by means of standard web browsers. The required access restrictions can be defined by the administrator in the web server via browser. Therefore, the installation efforts on the Client’s side are limited to making the appropriate browser settings.
The user has a web framework with a standardised user environment, i.e. experience with the operation of HIGH-LEIT is not required. Via the web browser, it is possible to retrieve protocols, graphics and process images that have already been parameterised in HIGH-LETIT.
Terminal Server
As a supplement to the web technology, the HIGH-LEIT Terminal Server facilitates the interactive use of an application server simultaneously by several users within a network (LAN / WAN / VPN). The Terminal Server centrally provides the familiar HIGH-LEIT MMI environment with all the means for the visualisation, evaluation and control of a process (process displays, logs, graphics etc.).
On the Client side, there are merely “slim” Clients – Microsoft Terminal Clients – which do not make great demands on the hardware. Given that only screen contents and no program data are transmitted via the network, it is possible to connect remote workplaces via ISDN (64 kB/s). Administration of the Terminal Server and the Clients is done centrally by the system administrator, which leads to a considerable reduction in cost and efforts for installation, commissioning and maintenance. Up to ten competing Clients can be connected to a Server.
For the operating systems 2008/VISTA and 2003/XP, all functions of the adaptable operator environment can also be used via the Terminal Server.
