IDS 850 – A modular, freely scalable automation and telecontrol device

The IDS 850 RTU combines compact dimensions with a robust industrial design. All components are plug-in modules which can be inserted into a metal housing. This installation-friendly system makes IDS 850 a solution that is easy to configure and to expand.  The module carriers are suitable for direct installation in 19” racks or for wall mounting.

IDS 850 has the following features:

  • Module carrier for the installation of a power supply module, a CPU and either 5, 9 or 16 plug-in communication or I/O modules
  • Several module carriers can be cascaded to make up RTUs with up to 2,048 information objects.
  • The RTU is connected to the process via removable screw or spring terminals on the front side of the module.
  • Function and status indications are displayed directly on the CPU via LED or 7-segment display
  • Command output modules (1, 1.5 or 2 pins) have a 1-out-of-n check and (optional) an external loop check.
