Solutions for Communications
In the past, it has been common practice to set up separate narrow-band networks for the exclusive transmission of telemetry data, using primarily copper cable and telephone connections and supplementing them with analogue leased lines.
Due to the discontinuation of analogue leased lines, however, it has become necessary to find other solutions in the near future. Breakdown of individual lines at a central position can lead to a communication breakdown within an entire sub-network. Hence, it is vital to rapidly and effectively replace the discontinued leased lines with adequate and cost-optimised alternatives. Given that the use of standard analogue fixed connection differs widely in each project, it is impossible to issue a general recommendation as to the replacement of discontinued lines.
In the future, the suppliers of transmission equipment will concentrate on a few standard interfaces. This means that, against the background of cancellations, the supply of central communication blocks for proprietary interfaces will become more and more expensive.
