Alarm System

HIGH-LEIT provides a quick and clear overview of present faults via its workplaces: specific statuses are indicated by coloured, blinking icons on the alarm bar, permitting direct access to the alarm lists with appropriately grouped detail information. The user can enter any sort of comment for each alarm in the alarm list.
For each status, alarm handling takes place automatically, e.g. the output of alarms to the appropriate workstation, support of the alarm system through further optical and acoustic devices in the control room (horn, gong, lamp) or through the execution of multimedia files on the operator PC. The emission of alarms can be not only person-specific but also location-specific, e.g. output of alarms at specific workplaces.
In addition, HIGH-LEIT provides a powerful concept for external alarm output in order to announce faults even if the control room is not continually manned. Colour changes of an icon indicate waiting external alarms, such as voice messages, emails or SMS messages. Through selecting this icon, the operator can open a list for the monitoring of current alarm activities and has the possibility to intervene; for instance, he can selectively cancel a voice message or skip a step in the alarm sequence
Fault-specific voice or text messages can be sent fully-automatic via telephone, SMS, email, fax, pager service etc. Transmission can be acknowledged either via these media or via a mobile workplace that is connected to the central control room via telephone (analogue, ISDN, GSM) or internet (DSL, GPRS, UMTS).
SMS messages generated by mobile phone or GSM modem can be received by HIGH-LEIT. The control system checks the sender’s telephone number and the message text and generates a “proper” message, together with an entry into the event log and – if necessary – alarm emission. Thus, it is possible, for instance, to simultaneously monitor a door contact and a centralized alarm via GSM modem with two digital inputs.
