E-world energy & water 2010
This year’s E-world energy & water 2010 Trade Fair will be held in Essen from February 09 to 11. Together with their partner, SoftProject GmbH, IDS GmbH is going to present cutting-edge solutions for Smart Metering and for the maintenance of supply networks (Hall 3, Stand 167).
The ACOS NMS product suite covers all aspects of maintenance, network construction and fault clearance. ACOS NMS is characterized by its modular structure which is based on an asset management system. The outage management function enables the component-specific recording of faults and their summarization into FNN-, DVGW- and BNA statistics. Efficient network operation is ensured through different strategies, such as status-oriented or risk-dependent maintenance. The workforce management tool is used for assignment of the resulting orders to the appropriate staff, for the subsequent execution of orders and their commercial booking. ACOS NMS also supports the execution of orders by means of mobile terminals. The ACOS NMS product suite is rounded off by an evaluation tool to improve grid quality.
The ACOS NMS network management system can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes. These processes can be connected for data exchange by means of the X4 middleware platform. Apart from typical fields of application like, for instance, the feedback of costs from ERP systems or the localization of a component via GIS, it is now possible to acquire status signals from Smart Metering terminals and to carry out further processing of the same.
The topic “Smart Metering“, too, is gathering momentum – to an increasing extent, IDS Group is implementing their well-proven Smart Metering technology in interesting projects. One of the driving forces behind these activities is the new German Energy Law.
On the other hand, the German incentive-based law causes grid operators to concentrate on the automation of medium-voltage networks and on the expansion of their distribution networks towards Smart Grid solutions.
IDS Group has combined both aspects into an overall concept which allows the operation of both Smart Metering and Smart Grid solutions via one and the same infrastructure. At the hub of this concept is the telecontrol and metering gateway FMG based on ACOS 750, which, on the one hand, serves as a data concentrator for the acquisition of metering data and, on the other hand, acts as an RTU for the automation of local network stations.
True to the motto “Fit for the Future“, IDS GmbH steadily continues on the road to success and has strengthened its position amongst the market leaders for the provision of complex project solutions for grid operators. Moreover, IDS has proved its ability to develop and provide adequate solutions for the continually changing requirements of a liberalised energy market.
IDS has firmly established itself on the German market as specialist for network management, SCADA, automation and telecontrol systems, as well as IT solutions for grid operation and monitoring. IDS currently employs ca. 310 highly-skilled staff (2009) in the departments R&D, production, sales, projects and administration. The development efforts of IDS are geared towards the development of innovative products for the supply and disposal industry. IDS currently generates an annual turnover of ca. 36 million EURO with high-tech products and services (2009).
